June 2009

I'd like to thank the following folks for helping me get my business up and running: Sharla June for my beautiful website and her eye for design; Dr. D. Abood for business advice and her impeccable practicality; Juan Ten for my flier and gift certificate designs and general silliness; Jose Vasquez for hard work as my handsome assistant; and Heather Diamond for sharing her kitchen culture idea and for great conversations about the future.

Lively Students

I had the chance this month to teach a class at the Culinary Arts Department at Lively Vocational Technical School. It was my third time teaching at Lively, and again I was impressed with the students and their interest in healthy cooking. These folks have excellent chopping skills and were ace choppers for the raw veggies we used in the quinoa salad!

Quinoa May-nia

May was the month for Quinoa Salad. I have found that making this salad offers lots of education about nutrition, grains, seaweed, raw vegetables, nuts, seeds, and healthy oils. And it's delcious and beatiful. I However, after about 9 lessons on quinoa salad, I'm looking forward to an upcoming pickles class!

Recent Classes

I just want to mention some of the fun classes I've been teaching lately. I demonstrated healthy snacks at the Monticello Health Fair; taught the quinoa salad at Mandy Pace's charming shop, Gardens, in Appalachicola, where 40 enthusiastic folks showed up; and taught the quinoa salad (again!) at Premier Health Club. Special thanks go out to Len Harvey for setting up the Premier class.

And congratulations to Tina and Kathy for winning private health consultations!

July/August 2008

So much press, so little time. This was a great month for The Kitchen Goddess, with both an article published in the New Leaf Newsletter and an interview with Kati Schardl of the Tallahassee Democrat. Please visit the links below to see what all the hubbub is about.
